The UN General Assembly designated January 27th as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. For the past 7 years since 2015, the Tokyo Holocaust Education Resource Center(Kokoro) organized annual gatherings on the occasion of the International Day.

We will hold an online lecture in 2022 for our 8th gathering to commemorate and promote the universal lessons of the Holocaust. We will invite Dr.Ayaka Takei, Professor at the Gakushuin Women’s College, as a guest speaker. She is one of the leading scholars of Holocaust and Jewish history and modern German history in Japan. She will give a lecture entitled “Holocaust Denial - European and American Responses”.

While combating anti-Semitism and any kind of racism becomes more and more a challenge we share everywhere, we would like to make this International Day an opportunity to ensure respect for the dignity and human rights of all people regardless of nationality, religion, or culture.
